Terms of Use

By creating a profile on Olive Matrimony you agree to these terms. Please read them — they explain what is and is not allowed, and what happens when someone breaks the rules.

Who may use Olive Matrimony

Olive Matrimony is a matrimonial service for adults seeking marriage, and for parents or guardians acting on their behalf.

You must be at least 18 years old (for a bride) or 21 years old (for a groom) to create a profile, in line with the legal age of marriage in India. Profiles below these ages are not permitted, are removed as soon as they are identified, and the account is closed. Creating a profile for a minor, or seeking a match with a minor, is prohibited and will be reported to the appropriate authorities where the law requires it.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour

You may not post, send, or request:

• sexually explicit, obscene or suggestive content of any kind
• nudity, or photographs of anyone other than the member the profile represents
• content involving or referring to minors in any romantic or sexual context
• harassment, threats, intimidation, stalking or repeated unwanted contact
• hate speech or abuse based on religion, caste, community, gender, disability or origin
• false, impersonated or misleading profile information
• requests for money, financial details, or any other scam or solicitation
• content that is unlawful under Indian law

Accounts that break these rules are removed. We do not issue warnings for serious violations.

Reporting and blocking

Every profile in the app carries a Report control and a Block control.

Report tells our moderation team about content or behaviour that breaks these rules. Block immediately removes that member from your view — you will not see each other in browse or matches, any pending interest between you is withdrawn, and they cannot contact you again. You can review and undo your blocks at any time in Settings › Blocked Members.

Our commitment: action within 24 hours

We review every report within 24 hours. Where a report is upheld we remove the offending content and remove the member who posted it from Olive Matrimony.

Content flagged by several members is withdrawn from view automatically while it is being reviewed. Everything you type into a profile is screened automatically for objectionable language before it is saved, and every photograph is logged for review by our moderation team and taken down if it breaks these rules.

Your profile information

You agree to provide accurate information about yourself or the family member whose profile you manage. Your phone number and email address are never shown on your public profile; they are shared only after an interest has been accepted by both sides.

Membership plans

Some features are available only to members on a paid plan. Where a plan is offered, the price and duration are shown before you commit, and the plan is not renewed automatically without your consent.

Ending your membership

You may stop using Olive Matrimony at any time and request deletion of your account from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, without refund where the breach is serious.
